Design process
The earlier db design is engaged in the project, the better, whether it be a new build or renovation. This will make the design process so much more streamlined, it's not every day you get to build or renovate a home, therefore it should be an enjoyable process, thats what db design strives for.
Every project differs slightly, therefore the steps below are a general guide. Transparency is an integral part of our ethos.
Design packages are tailored to each individual project scope & Needs. Book a vision discussion so we can provide you with an estimation of investment that aligns with your vision, and timeline.

STAGE 1 - Design Brief
This is the part where we get to know you, and what you want. We meet, chat and nut out the information required to generate the design brief, which will assist in forming the foundation of the design. A flexible document, this information allows for an efficient creation of your design. Following our meeting an estimated fee proposal will be provided.

STAGE 2 - Initial concept
Upon completion of the design brief, the fun part starts. Spatial layouts are explored and one or multiple layout concepts are created for presentation. Rationale will be explained to ensure transparency and understanding. This stage focuses on function, ergonomics and flow.

STAGE 3 - Design development
Once a concept has been chosen, tweaks are made and the concept is further developed and detailed, until we reach a point where you are happy with the end result. Front elevations and colour renders are utilised, and are a key tool in this stage of the design.

STAGE 4 - Final design
A final set of plans will be produced that includes fully detailed elevations, and 3D renders, potentially including electrical plans for the electrician if required. This plan set will provide a joiner sufficient information to quote, and mostly build the kitchen, and will also provide trades enough information to execute the project also.

db design has aligned Joiners whom we regulary work with; we know that we will get the high quality outcome, on time, at a good price with our suppliers. db design can supply your kitchen or joinery for you, as well as undertake the project coordination element, or you can self supply through a joiner of your choice. db design will work along side your preferred joiner if this is the option you choose.
